A good strategy book, but not for beginners

I highly recommend this book for intermediate users who are already familiar with English usage but are looking for a quick review to familiarize themselves with the test format. Every test has its own strategy and so does iBT, which is very different from the PBT or CBT.

This book delivers the best 'strategies' to crack each part of TOEFL iBT. The strategies are very easy to understand and are very practical. I spent two days studying this book (and only this book), and received a satisfying score of 110 (out of 120). However, this book will NOT teach you so much about the basic knowledge for English grammar, structural writings, vocabs, etc. So if you need help in these fields, I'd recommend buying other books to complement your study. Very bad editorial work

Though the book is quite complete and comes with a bunch of standard tests on the cd-rom, the text on the book refers to the audio cds time and time again, even though you don't have them. That renders most of the book's exercises useless.

Useless book without audio CDs

I bought this book few weeks ago. I was expecting that book will be enough for my toefl preparation process(at least for reading, writing and speaking sections). But i found later that without the audio cds that book is useless. All the subjects in this book requires some listening parts which is only given by the audio cds. So before buying this product, be aware that you have to also buy the audio cd set. Then you can get maximum benefit from the book.
I know Amazon selling millions of products but consumers need more info.

A good book but don't forget order your CD

I bought this book because my friends told me this one is the top preparation book for TOEFL test. Yes, it's pretty good in organization. The only problem is that it's not sold together with CD so that when I place order, I forgot to order CDs with the book. In addition, because IBT is based on Internet that require a computerized platform, the biggest disadvantage of this book is that it didn't simulate the true enviroment of test. So you should consider to buy another one to practice test.

Oxford Seminar's text

This is one of the books supplied when registering for the 60 hour Oxford Seminar Teaching ESL/EFL 3 weekend class. There is another commercial text on Overseas Jobs, plus a large O.S. proprietary bound text and a much smaller stappled text for job location. The whole seminar is $995, but $100 off with a 4 week advance registration.

Influenced by the class, I don't see the text as being totally stand alone, even if the quality is exceptionally high. However, I liked the O.S. approach so much that I am adding a supplementary 40 hour module for TOEFL for $300.
